In the United States Capitol rotunda hangs a 12’ by 18’ oil-on-canvas painting by the American artist John Trumbull. This beautiful and priceless painting recreates the spirit of the historic meeting in which our forefathers presented a draft of the Declaration of Independence to Congress.  Trumbull first painted a much smaller version of the same scene, which is now displayed at the Yale University
